Chief Theoretical Instructor (CTI)
We’re seeking a seasoned Chief Theoretical Instructor (CTI) to lead our product development, ensuring all courses, books, and training materials meet the highest standards of quality and certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Development: Design and oversee the development of course materials, including IFR, VFR, aircraft-specific guides, and ATPL theory.
- Certification and Compliance: Ensure all books and courses align with global aviation authorities (e.g., FAA, EASA, ICAO), manage the certification process for current and future products.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with video editors and the project manager to produce engaging online courses, partner with pilots from different areas of aviation to create educational content written in the signature How to Fly style.
- Continuous Improvement: Incorporate feedback from students, instructors, and aviation schools to update materials regularly, stay updated on aviation regulation changes and integrate them into course content and communication channels.
- Leadership and Vision: Ensure consistency across all products, act as the subject-matter expert (SME) and provide guidance to the team.
Requirements
- Aviation Expertise: Certified pilot or instructor with deep knowledge of IFR, VFR, ATPL theory, and other aviation subjects, familiarity with FAA, EASA, or other global certification standards.
- Educational Experience: Proven experience creating or teaching aviation theory courses, ability to simplify complex concepts and make them engaging for learners.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to oversee multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams, strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Tech-Savviness: Comfortable using e-learning platforms, video production workflows, and digital tools (e.g., PowerPoint, LMS platforms), interest and expertise in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English (additional languages are a plus).
Estimated Salary:
$80,000 – $110,000 per year
