Are you passionate about food processing and looking for a hands-on job? As one of our Pilot Plant Technologists you will be responsible to operate in the state-of-art Pilot Plant of the Flora Food Group in Wageningen. Our portfolio covers a wide array of plant-based spreads, creams and cheeses. Pilot plant experiments are the scale between lab (production of +/- 1 kg) and factory scale (production of +/- 10 t).

About the position

As a pilot plant technologist, you will be key in the execution of trials. You will be in charge of the execution of the end-to-end trial process. On a daily basis you will process products, weigh raw materials, set up the process line, record process parameters, and clean the line in preparation for the next day. You act as a sparring partner with the product developer and are able to judge the product-process interactions. You will be the point of contact for product development to support the successful execution of trials and provide input in problem solving.

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?

You understand why a trial is performed during the intake process. You will have ownership of equipment, applied process conditions during trials, including cleaning and maintenance of that equipment. You are able to respond to unexpected situations during trial preparation and execution.

What capabilities do you bring? You can work independently and are eager to learn. You develop yourself to be a true partner in the product development process. Affinity with process technology and a food technology background is great, but not absolutely necessary. You communicate well in both the English and Dutch language.
