About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cessna 421B Pilot to join our aviation team in South Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating our Cessna 421B in compliance with South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) regulations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and professionalism in all aspects of flight operations.
This role requires a pilot who is adaptable, safety-conscious, and able to manage flight planning, navigation, and aircraft maintenance coordination. The aircraft will primarily be used for corporate travel, logistics, and private operations across South Africa and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
- Flight Operations & Safety Compliance:
Operate the Cessna 421B in accordance with SACAA Part 91 (Private Operations) and other applicable aviation regulations.
Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
Prepare and submit flight plans as per SACAA ATNS (Air Traffic and Navigation Services) requirements.
Ensure strict adherence to operational safety procedures and emergency protocols. - Navigation & Performance Management:
Plan and execute domestic and regional flights, considering weather conditions, fuel management, and alternate routing.
Utilize modern avionics, GPS, and communication systems to navigate efficiently.
Manage aircraft performance, weight, and balance calculations for each flight. - Passenger & Client Service:
Provide a high level of professionalism and discretion when transporting executives or clients.
Maintain clear and effective communication with passengers and ground operations.
Ensure cabin readiness and comfort for passengers. - Aircraft Maintenance Coordination:
Liaise with approved Aircraft Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) to ensure the aircraft remains in peak operational condition.
Monitor scheduled maintenance and ensure logbooks and records are up to date as per SACAA requirements.
Conduct troubleshooting and report technical issues to maintenance teams.

Minimum Requirements
- South African Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Multi-Engine Rating (Issued by SACAA).
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 1,500 total flight hours (Preference for those with 500+ hours on multi-engine aircraft).
- Minimum of 200 hours on piston multi-engine aircraft, preferably Cessna 421B or similar pressurized piston twins.
- Valid Instrument Flight Rating (IFR) with currency on multi-engine aircraft.
- Experience operating in IFR and VFR conditions, including night flying.
- Familiarity with ATNS, SACAA regulations, and aviation weather briefing systems.
- Proficiency in Garmin GNS/GPS or similar modern avionics systems.
- Strong flight planning, risk assessment, and fuel management skills.
- Must be eligible to work in South Africa and hold a valid passport for potential cross-border flights.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Experience with corporate or private charter flight operations.
- Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) Theory Exams Completed (Advantageous).
- Type rating or substantial experience on Cessna 421B, Cessna 414, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving ability and situational awareness.
- Excellent communication skills with a client-service mindset.
- Familiarity with electronic flight bags (EFBs), flight tracking, and modern aviation technologies.
- Previous experience in remote airstrip operations or flying in challenging African environments (e.g., bush strips, high-altitude airports).
