UAV (Drone) Pilot – Offshore Operations Freelance

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Freelance UAV (Drone) Pilotto support offshore and onshore operations, conducting aerial surveys, inspections, and monitoring activities. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in drone operations, flight planning, and data collection, ensuring safety and efficiency in offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) for offshore and onshore inspections, surveillance, and data collection.
• Conduct pre-flight planning, safety checks, and risk assessments before deployment.
• Capture high-quality aerial imagery and video footage for structural inspections, environmental monitoring, and other offshore applications.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot drone hardware and software issues in offshore and onshore conditions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to provide real-time data analysis and reporting.
• Maintain flight logs, equipment records, and ensure drone maintenance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Certification:

• Valid UAV/Drone Pilot License (e.g., CAAS UA Pilot License or equivalent).
• Offshore Survival Certification (e.g., BOSIET/OPITO preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum 2–3 years of UAV piloting experience, preferably in offshore industrial, or maritime environments.
• Experience with drone inspection for oil & gas, wind farms, ship hull inspections, offshore or onshore platforms is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in operating fixed-wing and multi-rotor UAVs.
• Knowledge of drone software (e.g., DJI Pilot, Pix4D, or similar).
• Familiarity with aerial mapping, photogrammetry, and LiDAR scanning is a plus.

Other Requirements:

• Strong understanding of offshore and onshore safety regulations and aviation guidelines.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in offshore environments too.
• Willingness to travel for offshore or onshore assignments as required.

Preferred Qualifications (Advantage):

• Background in engineering, remote sensing, or geospatial analysis.
• Additional UAV training or certifications in thermal imaging, gas detection, or environmental monitoring.
• Prior experience working with offshore companies or energy sectors.
