We are looking for a motivated individual to join the Global Cheese Application team, which supports the development and concept creation of cheese products using ingredients such as bacteria cultures, enzymes, and coatings from dsm-firmenich. As a lab technician, you will work closely with Cheese application experts, R&D colleagues, and sales colleagues to test, develop, and renew our Cheese portfolio in the Lab and Dairy pilot plant facilities available in Delft. Together with the team of cheese technicians, you will be responsible for the hygiene and safety of the Cheese pilot plant, laboratory, and ripening facilities.

Your key responsibilities:

  1. Execution of multiple types of analyses (chemical, rheological) on ingredients and final products;
  2. Raw material intake to ripening and maintenance of the final products;
  3. Pilot scale and small-scale production of various types of cheeses;
  4. Organizing tasting sessions to assess the products;
  5. Reporting of results, conclusions, and recommendations for further development.

You bring:

  1. HBO degree or MBO degree in Food/Dairy science or other relevant Bio Science; Affinity to cheese, food science, and/or microbiology is considered a strong plus;
  2. Recently graduated with relevant internship experience;
  3. Strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and highly developed skills working in a multi-disciplinary environment;
  4. A sense of ownership, delivering results that matter and contribute significantly to our success;
  5. Commitment to continuous self-development and eagerness to cultivate a successful and fulfilling career with our organization;
  6. Fluency in English.
