Job Role:
- Pilotage for all tonnage of all vessel types.
- Handling of VLCCs through channels, inside harbors, and open sea jetties, including tankers calling at oil terminals, SPMs, STS marine operations, berthing, stern on, between buoys, and all kinds of mooring.
- Using VTS radar system and initiating communication by radio with ships, pilots, port control tower, and tugs for securing mooring to the berth.
- Completing arrival and departure documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in navigating vessels safely into and out of ports
- Utilize VTS radar systems and communicate effectively with ships, pilots, and port control towers to ensure safe and efficient mooring procedures
- Verify arrival and departure documents are completed accurately
Requirements:
- Valid Certificate of Competency and Endorsement (unlimited) Master
- Mariner (FG) of a foreign-going vessel issued by the respective government of his nationality (should hold 2nd & Chief Mate before obtaining Master Mariner FG)
- Valid endorsement attesting the recognition of a certificate under the provisions of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978 as amended (if the Certificate of Competency of Master F.G. was not issued by the respective government of his nationality)
- Valid STCW certificates
- Minimum five years’ experience in unlimited pilotage (handling VLCC) at famous ports
- Experience certificate
