Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Work Setting: Various locations

Tasks:

1. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
2. Address customers’ complaints or concerns
3. Demonstrate professionalism in customer service
4. Load and unload goods
5. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
6. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
7. Perform brake adjustments
8. Perform emergency roadside repairs
9. Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
10. Perform preventive maintenance
11. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
12. Ensure compliance with government regulations
13. Maintain knowledge of licensing regulations

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:

1. Class 1 / 1F / A Licence (semi trailer trucks)
2. Class 3 / 3F / DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles)
3. Class 4 / 4F / F / 4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles, and buses with fewer than 24 passengers)
4. Commercial Driver Registration Program (CDRP) Card

Documentation Knowledge:

1. Accident or incident reports
