We are seeking a skilled and experienced Drone Pilot/Operator to join our team specializing in surveying and mapping projects. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in drone operations, data collection, and processing, with a strong understanding of GPS devices and photogrammetry techniques. This role involves planning and executing drone flights, capturing high-quality aerial data, and collaborating with project teams to deliver accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities

  • Taking all the necessary hands-on and technical steps from project start to end to ensure that the project is carried out in the best way and that the deliverables are of the highest quality possible.
  • Plan and execute drone flights for surveying and mapping projects in compliance with local aviation regulations.
  • Flying the company UAVs to carry out missions and projects.
  • Traveling to the project/mission site(s).
  • Inspecting drones and ensuring that they meet company standards.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate drones and associated equipment, including batteries and sensors.
  • Reporting back on drone status.
  • Programming drones (missioning).
  • Preparing equipment for missions and ensuring all requirements are present.
  • Suggesting and carrying out solutions that increase the speed and function of the drone.
  • Suggesting and carrying out solutions that enhance the operations team performance on projects.
  • Staying updated with the required certifications and licenses.
  • Configure sensors and cameras to achieve optimal data acquisition for surveying and mapping tasks.
  • Collaborate with survey teams to set up Ground Control Points (GCPs) and ensure proper georeferencing of collected data.
  • Operate and integrate GPS devices, such as RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) and GNSS systems, to improve the accuracy of survey data and to create RTK points to fly.
  • Ensure operations comply with company policies, safety protocols, and legal requirements, including UAV licenses and permits.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience flying drones.
  • Part 107 license holder.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Geomatics or Surveying preferred).
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
