Flight test pilot

Flight testing sits at the core of Cloudline’s product development. We are looking for a flight test pilot to join our team and test our airship designs and payload systems in order to provide engineering and production feedback as well as develop our operational systems. You will be responsible to design the flight profiles with the engineers in order to gather the data needed, to improve the flightline and operational procedures, to maintain our fleet of airships, to test new payload systems, to flight test and ground test our airships and their systems and to travel for deployments and build them out.

Requirements

• Remote Pilot License (RPL) holder
• Core understanding of flight principles
• Experience in the unmanned aviation sector
• Keen to build standards, process and engage in product development
• Experience with various drone payload systems, e.g. multispectral camera, 3D mapping camera etc.
• Experience with processing drone payload data, e.g. Pix4D experience
• Keen interest to plan UAV flights, execute them and process the collected data
• Able to problem solve creatively and quickly
• Ability to find and fix technical problems related to unmanned vehicles

Other Requirements

• Based in Cape Town, South Africa, or willing to relocate (no work permit sponsorship available for this role)
• Ability to travel as required
