Maintenance Test Pilot – AW139

The Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) plays a critical role in ensuring the airworthiness and operational readiness of AW139 helicopters used in Search & Rescue Operations.
This position involves performing maintenance test flights (MTFs) to validate the proper functioning of the aircraft after maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
The MTP will be responsible for conducting acceptance test flights, pre/post phase test flights, ground/flight maintenance operational checks, ground/flight evaluation and troubleshooting.
The MTP will collaborate closely with maintenance teams, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure proper documentation of discrepancies, corrective actions, and aircraft status.
Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections with a focus on identifying potential safety hazards.
Participate in the evaluation and enhancement of maintenance and flight operations procedures.
Ensure the aircraft is pre-flight inspected, loaded, equipped, and manned for mission. Inspect engines, fuselage, and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness.
Inspect and test mission equipment for proper operation.
Ensures that weight and balance is valid, fuel supply is adequate, plus survival and rescue equipment is properly stowed.
Test both normal and emergency functions of systems.
Coordinate and direct flight phases of test or support missions with other aircraft.
Maintain flight records and report observations made during mission.
Required Qualification:
High school / diploma graduate, BS degree in any aviation discipline is preferred.
Valid commercial pilot’s license or higher with appropriate type rating for AW139.
Must have current or have ability to pass and maintain FAA or EASA, GCCA equivalent class II flight physical.
Must be able to pass hands-on- flight evaluation.
Required Experience:
Minimum three years’ experience within the last five years piloting AW139 aircraft, and factory /OEM training in Leonardo AW139.
Total of 2000+ flight hours and 500 flight hours as pilot in command (PIC) on Leonardo AW139 Helicopters, along with at least 200 MTP hours.
Strong knowledge of Production and Quality Control preferred.
Proven experience in maintenance test flights and troubleshooting.
