Offshore Uav Pilot

Cyberhawk has a number of Drone Pilot opportunities for UAS / UAV operators who have offshore inspection experience. These are permanent opportunities in Qatar that are ideal for an experienced pilot who enjoys work variety, flexibility, flying good kit and working in a tight knit, successful team. These are not the typical offshore pilot roles.

We use drones and our iHawk software to keep people out of danger and reduce the carbon footprint of our energy and large capital project clients.

We are looking for people from anywhere globally. We will support relocation to Qatar including: accommodation allowance, transport allowance and family relocation (including school or nursery fees). We also pay a competitive salary, have a good holiday allowance, medical insurance etc. You will be fully trained and supported both in your role and in your relocation.

About our Unmanned Aerial System (UAS /UAV) Roles:
You will be working within our growing team of offshore experienced UAS pilots and inspection engineers in Qatar. Our drone pilots are central to the execution of inspection and survey services that we offer and our clients really appreciate the work that our pilots do. We fly up-to-date commercial drones and are always investing in technology and great tools to be able to perform our jobs well.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of field flight plans to provide reliable data to make safety critical decisions on maintenance of assets and progress of projects.

You will be using your skills for both offshore and onshore work, often in challenging environments. The work is varied including: undertaking inspections on platforms or from a vessel (inspecting flairs, underdecks, bridges, boilers, exhausts etc), and flying over construction sites to track and monitor progress. You will always be in a team of at least two on all jobs.

Every day you will be working outside, flying drones and collecting data. You will need to be able to work in the Qatar climate, follow procedures and work to deadlines. We start and finish the day early to ensure we make the most of the cooler weather whilst working. Our pilots have a good work life balance with offshore stays that are not extreme in length.

Responsibilities:

– Conduct drone operations in a controlled manner as Pilot in Command potentially across multiple drone platforms, systems and payloads
– Perform Pre/In flight procedures and checks while adhering to company Procedures
– Perform Post operations management, including data handover and flight documentation
– Log daily operations using in-house workpack management system
– Assist with job preparation such as creation of RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement), equipment management, organising travel & accommodation
– Adhere to company’s highest standards of health and safety

Who would be a good fit for our role:
Essential:

– Minimum academic qualification at Diploma level
– At least 125 hours drone flight time
– At least 50 hours flying drones for industrial inspection operations
– Flying drones offshore on inspection work scopes on at least 5 platform projects (these can be small projects such as a flair, a tank etc.)
– Must be willing to live and work in Qatar and potentially travel worldwide and work away from home
– Fluent written and spoken English
– Full and clean driving license

Preferred:

– Knowledge of photography
– Knowledge of airspace management & current drone regulations
– Knowledge/experience of land surveying
– Possess excellent communication skills with an ability to operate effectively as part of a team
– Be able to demonstrate the ability to operate complex equipment in accordance with SOPs
– Able to work in safety-critical environment while under pressure
– Good understanding of risk assessments and the significance of risk management
